The goal of this learning activity is to revisit our systems thinking content to create a quick systems map sketch. Based on the RARE report, choose 1 of the 7 climate change-problems underlying their 7 behaviors. Complete these steps to sketch a quick systems map: Identify the most relevant 3-5ish systems elements of the climate problem you chose (e.g., transportation needs, driving a gas-powered car, vehicle emissions, etc.); you may need to do a big of background research, but don’t get stuck in the details The system’s purpose will be the greenhouse gas emissions of your outcome (i.e., a climate change driver) Sketch the systems elements and their interconnections (i.e., arrows) that represent the climate problem Add a behavioral feedback that would result if we, as a society, implemented the behavior change indicated in the Rare report (see Meadows if you need to review what a feedback is) Include a background context box if it helps Create your map by sketching it out on paper, or using an app or the pptx template if it’s easier. Make sure your sketch is labeled with a title, and make all your elements clear. Upload your system sketch for the submission.
