Assignments 5a and 5b are interrelated. Read both assignment descriptions before you do anything. Before you complete the proposal in Assignment 5a, you must select a topic as described in Assignment 5b.
First, decide on a topic as described in Assignment 5b (found on the course home page). The proposal should explain your topic and describe the outline of your essay as you thus far conceive it to be. In addition, explain how your research sources will contribute to the essays goals. You may find it useful to list two or three questions you hope to answer in the course of writing the essay. Along with the text of the research proposal, you must include a works cited page with at least two sources of information. If you reference one of the assigned essays, include that text in the works cited page as well. For each information source, provide a 75-to-100-word summary of its content. Do not include the citations in the word count for the summaries.
