Essays should have a word count that ranges from 900-1,200 words

Discuss what the talk is all about (provide a brief summary) and your engagement with the topic (how it resonates with you personally, your research, interests, etc.)
Relate the topic to a broader discussion of geography; use at least one topic in geography we discussed in class.
In creating the essay, do the following
o Provide an introduction, followed by a road map
o A road map is not an actual map but 1-2 sentence/s that informs the reader
what your essay is all about. A road map is usually found at the end of your first paragraph. It is usually written this way (dont copy word for word make your own): This essay discusses Filipino migrant workers in Singapore and how their future lives are dependent on choices that are tied to place is based on the lecture given by _______ (name speaker). I will discuss the points raised by the speaker, offer my own interpretation of them, and relate this to the issue of ____ (identify a topic discussed in class/or based on a reading material used in class).
o The essay should have a middle section or analysis that further discusses and expands your ideas or points that you raised.
o There should be a concluding statement that summarizes your main ideas.
