I am a seasoned engineer with +10 years of experience, worked on several industries (Oil, gas, solar, wind, heavy construction) and at some point realized that the lack of understanding of how materials behave is often negatively impacting all industries.
Several of my existing clients (I work as a consultant) do ask for an opinion after things go wrong which is obviously too late.
In addition and to be honest, the main reason for my application, I do believe that most (if not all) of the existing and new LNG infrastructure can be used for Hydrogen which would represent a significant amount of savings for current and future facilities owners.
Finally, despite of my role / job, furthering my knowledge on materials engineering has always been a passion of mine that’s taken me down the path of acquiring several certifications (welding engineer, welding inspector, pipeline inspector, among others) now is time for me to take my researcher spirit to a new level, this includes re-directing my career towards academia.
