Cultural Aspects Assignment
} Look at your personal (Hispanic) in the United States. Choose an aspect of this culture of your choice that you think could benefit from health promotion (Diet/food). The aspect you select could a diet/type or quality of food, medical/clinical philosophy, substance use, etc.
◦ In no more than 5 pages , discuss in detail and illustrate through a reflection paper the following themes:
a) on how what may be considered bad (or unhealthy) in one culture and acceptable to another what ways health communications have address this. Use examples
b) Include any contextual challenges that may exist with this duality that exists.
c) Propose how research, public health, medical & care providers can integrate this understanding in our service provision.
You may choose to include a personal opinion – but this exercise asks you to consider both sides of the discussion and present a view point that stems from “potential opportunities” and not blame.
