1. Personal Position:
a. Thesis:
i. Argue why relevant to policy making, a legal market for human transplant organs
is immoral.
b. Argument: Euthanasia (active and passive) is moral.
i. Hint: refer at least to the basic principles of biomedical ethics as well as the sanctity of life ethic.
ii. Consider the topic in light of the question “Is there a moral right to health care?”
2. Critical Evaluation:
a. Use the relevant attached articles to critically evaluate your argument.
b. Note: critical evaluation may be either positive or negative, i.e., some philosopher may be useful to provide support for your position or to raise objections to your position to which you respond; your critical section should include both positive and negative criticism (i.e., support and objection).
c. Note: this should be the largest section of your paper.
3. Reflection:
a. Explain how your understanding of the chosen topic has been influenced by the readings, and particularly due to the critical evaluation of your personal position.
b. Note: this section should be given importance in the essay (i.e., don’t tack it on as an afterthought in your conclusion).
4. Textual Support and Course Concepts:
a. Justify your assertions regarding your critics’ evaluations with relevant quotations from their articles.
b. Use and explain the relevant course concepts and vocabulary where appropriate (e.g., autonomy, beneficence, moral status, prima facie, etc.)
