Wound bed preparation involves a holistic approach focusing on wound diagnosis and structured local wound care. It is of foremost importance that healthcare professionals understand and consider factors promoting and inhibiting wound healing, however, these factors are not always clear to patients and carers. “The TIME principle has been widely adopted by many in practice. However, the current gaps in practice indicate that there is a need for expansion to a simple framework for the assessment and management of chronic wounds, which incorporates the TIME paradigm”
