You will write a detailed methods section, including a description of your sample/participants, study design and procedures, and measures/assessments. This section should be 3-5 pages long, and you need to include an updated reference list. Research Paper and Presentation (350 points total) Importance – Creativity, Critical Thinking: Creating and conducting your own research study demonstrates your knowledge of the entire process of research. This project gives you the opportunity to learn more about an area of your professional interest, exhibit your knowledge of your topic, and constructively critique peers’ work. Expectation: You will select a topic of interest to you and write a full research report in APA format. This project will occur in several phases. 1. Draft 1: Introduction and References (50 points) – You will conduct database research and write a review of the current literature on your topic. 2. Draft 2: Study Proposal (50 points) – You will incorporate the feedback from your peer and myself, and you will then design a study around your topic. You will write a detailed methods section, including a description of your participants, study design and procedures, measures, and a data analysis section. 3. Final Paper (100 points) – Your final paper should incorporate the feedback from your peer and from myself, as well as report the results you think you would find in your study and a comprehensive discussion section. This paper should be between 10 and 15 pages long not including your references. 4. Final Presentation (75 points) – You will create a research-based presentation about your study and record yourself delivering your presentation either through Zoom or Canvas Studio. Upload your presentation to the Presentation Blog so it is viewable to the class. Each presentation needs to be between 12 and 15 minutes long.
