GUIDELINES FOR PEDIATRIC ASSIGNMENT/REFLECTION
After completing the school health fair clinical experience, students will complete the pediatric reflection assignment. This assignment is graded according to the guidelines below
Written requirements:
• Submit a typed 1-2-page paper reflecting on the health fair clinical experience
• Correct spelling and grammar
• Submit to drop box by 6pm, 72 hours after health fair.
Satisfactory assignments must include the following:
1. Description of the population of children (client) that were seen (e.g. age, ethnicity, etc.).
2. Identify the Erikson’s stage for the identified group. Identify the goals the client needs to achieve in this stage. Describe outcome(s) for the client should the child fail to successfully complete this Erikson task.
3. Describe interventions that you/peers utilized to alleviate the client’s fears related to the health fair
experience, to include a detailed rationale for why the interventions were chosen/utilized (e.g. age
considerations, developmental considerations).
4. What are the norms for height and weight for this client population?
5. Which immunizations would you expect the client to have received at this time?
6. How did this experience impact you as a student nurse?
