This assessment task is designed to allow students to deepen their knowledge on the relationship between radiographic positioning and image interpretation. You would need to consider the patients journey within a radiology department, from checking their clinical history, preparation, the projections needed, checking the quality of the images, checking for pathology, and sending images to PACS for reporting

1. Foot Pathology

On the following foot x-ray series, label five different fractures that can occur. Define each fracture, describe its radiographic appearance, and the mechanism of injury.

2. Image Evaluation

There are five hand and wrist x-rays here. Describe any abnormalities seen and label the pathology on the images. If there is no abnormalities

3. Image Critique – Upper Limb

For the shoulder series below

a. Critique the images and explain what needs to be done to improve if any.

b. Describe, in detail, the radiographic findings of the radiographs and the diagnosis based on your description. Label the images in your answer.

4. Bony Injury

The images below are all the same patient. These x-rays are of a 5 year old with a clinical history of ‘FOOSH, tenderness over radial aspect’. The first set of x-rays are on the same day of injury. The second set is three weeks after initial injury and surgery. The third set is another three weeks after.
