History Podcast Script Writing

HST 320: History of Michigan Final Project Example #1: Podcast Short Brief: You are here to write a 1500 words podcast script (like you are writing a paper, need Chicago Footnotes). The prompt, topic, etc are below. Class Rules: This class has a ZERO tolerance policy of AI. Ø The AI rate should be below 1%, check from: https://gptzero.me No argument of the AI similarity, I have already gave you the tool, check yourself before upload. https://copyleaks.com The AI test result should be green and shows that it’s Human Language. Ø The similarity of Turnitin.com should be below 7% from school requirement. Ø The AI % of Turnitin.com should be below 5% from school requirement. PROMPT Throughout the semester, you have listened to lectures on many critical aspects of Michigan history. However, the internet offers more opportunities to reach out and educate an even wider audience. Choose a topic related to Michigan history that your instructor has NOT covered in his lectures and produce a 20-30 minute podcast about it. History podcasts can take on a variety of forms. Some history podcasters interview experts. Others tell stories or have conversations about the effects of the past on the present. The possibilities are vast, but the most successful podcasts will not simply catalogue a collection of “interesting” facts. By the end of your podcast, listeners should understand the significance of the topic you chose and why it continues to be relevant. COMPONENTS   Podcast You can structure your podcast in whatever way you feel will be most o conducive to developing an argument for why the topic you chose is important and continues to be relevant. You may find it helpful to consult the “Launching a Podcast” guide from Dig, a narrative-driven history podcast aimed at both an academic and general audience. Upload your podcast to SoundCloud or a similar audio streaming o site. You do not need to make your finished project visible to the whole world, but you should be able to submit a link that will be accessible to your instructor. Annotated Transcript Alongside your podcast, generate a full account of everything you say. Transcription, after all, can serve as both a guide for you and a tool to make your work more accessible. Anytime you quote or paraphrase historical information in your transcript, you should cite it using the Chicago Manual of Style. o [Note: Your podcast MUST be fully produced. Some of you may already own audiovisual equipment, but you do NOT need to purchase anything to complete this project. LEADR, the digital research lab on the first floor of the Old Horticulture Building, has equipment such as microphones and cameras that students in history classes can rent for free as well as helpful staff that can direct you to resources such as open-source editing software.]
