Introduction
Caregiver burden is the level of multifaceted strain perceived by the caregiver from caring for a family member and/or loved one over time”, (Liu et al., 2020). Informal caregivers play an important role in supporting long-term care for older person their activities of daily living (ADL) and their wellbeing. However, targeted forms of family engagement and technical and psychosocial support by health professionals are lacking for informal caregivers.
(Marinho, Batista, et al., 2022). The study will involve recruiting informal caregivers of seniors in the community. A validated tool designed to measure caregiver burden consists of 12 dimensions of burden. The aim of this study is to use the 12 -item Zarit Burden Scale to further break down the caregiver burden into biopsychosocial aspects and factors (emotional, physical, social health, and financial consequences).
