The main objective of this assignment is to allow you to think critically about issues/debates discussed in class pertaining to child and youth studies which are attached bellow. You are required to write a seven-paged paper, double-spaced, excluding the title and reference pages, based on the article above. Below are instructions about what the paper shall be about: PART ONE: (about six pages double spaced) -Introduce the topic and its importance -Describe the study by Sirkko et al.: What is the study about? What was the goal? How were participants recruited, which method(s) were used? what was the finding(s)? etc. -Apply to course content and critique it: Notice any assumptions about children and youth? Any discourses? Any theories? Children’s voice? Notice any methods exploring children and youth? What tools were used? Ethics? Legalities and rights? Any limitations, in which areas? -Provide a conclusion -This section will be marked out of 20 (10 to describe the study and 10 for critiquing and applying course content to it which are attached bellow) PART TWO: (about one page double spaced) -Select ANY media representation of children/childhood at school (video, newspaper article, photo from Google/Instagram/Facebook, blog, or any other digital representation of children/childhood) that were seen or were reflected in the article by Sirkko et al (2019). -if it’s an image, you may copy it onto the word document (no reference required); if it’s a video/newspaper article, please provide the link; if it’s a social media post, please screen shot remove all private aspects such as who is it from, profile name, location, etc) and paste the image as a picture to the word document.
