Reflective Paper Since a foundational aspect of mindfulness is self-awareness and being aware of how your own mind/body/spirit function, the goal of this paper is to be intentional about noticing (and documenting) your self-awareness journey. To assist with this, students are encouraged to maintain a journal , documenting things like: • Your experience with the different mindfulness practices, especially what challenged you • Moments of stress or misalignment related to your role as a leader or your role in an organization within which you are working/volunteering • Moments of stress or misalignment related to interpersonal relations • Moments of equanimity, joy, and alignment related to your role as a leader or your interpersonal relations • Times you experience destructive emotions vs. constructive emotions • Ways you have cultivated practical wisdom or engaged in skillful action • The journal will make it much easier to write this paper. The final product should encompass: • An analysis of your mindfulness trajectory. You can choose to focus on a particular aspect (aka, rumination, challenges being fully present, achieving goals while practicing non-striving, etc.) or address multiple topics. Think of it less as a critique and more of an acknowledgement of things as they are. • Reference to appropriate sources and demonstration of understanding of the concepts addressed. • An intention setting for beyond the course. What intentions do you have for moving forward after the course is complete? These should be approximately 5-7 pages (including references), typed and double-spaced. Use proper APA formatting for sources cited. Please reference appropriate literature (minimum 5 sources). APA: Note: For this assignment, use APA 7th for referencing.
