Safety Management Systems
Using the company your created for Assignment 2 – Safety Programs, you must now create a Safety Management System (SMS) for a potential catastrophic event.
General requirements:
· Describe the potential catastrophic event that could occur at your facility, indicating whether it affects property, personnel, or both
· Describe the four key elements of your SMS as described in the Pennsylvania PowerPoint (You DO NOT need to write a full policy, risk analysis, etc. – just give an overview highlighting the important points)
o Safety Policy
o Risk Management
o Safety Assurance
o Safety Promotion
· Use the Safety Management ISO 45001 PowerPoint and OSHA process safety management – train-the-trainer PowerPoint as resources
Report requirements
· Cover page that includes the assignment name and number, the course number and name, your name, and the due date
· Report body
o Description of your potential catastrophic event
§ The event needs to be reasonable for your type of industry and your company’s location
o Include a section of at least one paragraph for each of the key elements
· References
o APA format
Other requirements
· Body of the paper must be double-spaced using Calibri 11-point font
· References do not need to be double-spaced but do need to be in APA format
· No more than 10 pages not including cover page and references
