Step One: Select a topic from the course schedule.
Step Two: Go online and find four peer-reviewed articles on this topic. At least 2 of these 4 articles must be from a communication journal. This is mandatory. If you’re not sure what this means, share your article with me before you start working on them.
Step Three: Read the articles.
Step Four (a): Critique the papers. This means: You’re putting these authors in conversation. Provide Three (3) main arguments/claims of each author. Compare these claims, write out what the authors have in common, where they differ, and what you think.
Step Four (b): What are the limitations of each of these articles? What would you have expected that they do differently? Use your critical thinking to question the arguments of individual authors.
Step Five: As you have connected these articles, it is now time for you to connect it with something in real-life. Is it a relationship? A movie? A specific interpersonal or personal life experience? Connect these research findings and reflexively use your findings from these articles to make sense of real-life situations.
