Prompt 2 (500~650 words & 7 sources required):
The late medieval and early modern periods witnessed dramatic social, cultural, political, and economic transformations. These movements/processes are frequently associated with European regions, such as “the Print Revolution” (Germany), the “Renaissance” (Italy), “the Military Revolution” (Austria and England), and the “Maritime Revolution” (Portugal and Spain). This question asks us to move away from this regional focus, challenging us to take a global perspective. Explain how the four movements/processes listed above were significantly influenced by Afro-Asian technologies and peoples. Your answer must include a discussion of the importance of key trade routes and states in the dissemination of commodities, texts, and ideas.
