Economists have debated returning to a quasi-fixed rate currency system based on the Special Drawing Rights (SDR) of the International Monetary Fund. The value of the SDR is based on the value of a basket of five reserve currencies: U.S. Dollar, the Japanese Yen, the Euro, the British Pound and the Chinese Renminbi (the official currency). Such a system is quasi-fixed as the value of each currency may float and/or the percentage of each currency can change. Perform a literature review and develop an argument for or against the idea based logically on your evaluation. Consider each of the five countries included in the SDR in formulating a recommendation.
