This writing assignment meets course specific requirements. Students will develop the
critical thinking and writing proficiency skills to meet Course Outcomes 1-4 on the
Syllabus. This assignment builds on the skills introduced in the Mid-term Essay
regarding historical academic writing.
ESSAY TOPIC
Drawing on the content of Chapter 15 and at least three other sources, analyze
European society in the Early 1500s. Address major events and movements that drove
change. Conclude with your assessment of the changes made at this time that are
most directly visible in our modern world, with supporting examples.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Submissions should be 1,200 to 1,500 words (approximately 5 to 6 pages), 12 point
font, double-spaced, with 1” margins, accompanied by a Works Cited page. The paper
and references should be Chicago Style (Turabian). All work must be submitted into the
Drop Box for this Assignment, and all work will be evaluated for a Turnitin similarity
score.
In addition to the Pearson text, a minimum of three academic sources are required and
three footnotes. Be certain to properly attribute sources, and properly credit direct
quotations from sources.
