Yet, if open-mindedness is valued, teachers provide the contextual factors that shape these decisions, and students come to appreciate why people make different choices.
If we want students to understand their interconnected world and its peoples, we must provide students with the experiences, knowedge, and skills needed for them to be receptive to and appreciate the diversity of human experience, knowledge, and belief systems.
