You are writing this as if you are talking to a friend who has come to you for help, so think about the tone of your answer. This also means you don’t have to use technical terms (it’s fine if you do, but make sure to explain those technical terms to Mia) and you don’t have to include references. However, you must use your own words so you cannot use direct quotes from either the

Mia is a 26 year old university student who just completed the first year of her Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice degree. Mia decided to go to work right out of high school, and along the way she also got married and started a family. Although she enjoyed her old job and she loves her family, she had been really excited to be able to stop working and start university. Mia had done quite well in high school and so she was expecting to also succeed at university. However, she found her first year at university much more difficult than she had anticipated and so she finished the year feeling quite deflated. For example,
she found that she felt really stressed and anxious whenever she sat down to work on her assessments, and so often instead of working on them she would spend time binging on Netflix shows and then she would get mad at herself for not getting her work done. As the year went on she felt that her motivation to do her academic work kept dropping, and she started to constantly feel disappointed, unhappy, and dismayed with herself. She was especially frustrated that, even when she did push herself to do the work, her academic performance was not as high as she thought it
would be. For example, she set aside a whole day to study for the final exam of her favourite topic – she made sure to read and reread all of the assigned chapters from her textbook and her lecture notes, and she focused on trying to memorise all of the information. Mia had been quite happy with the time she spent that day studying for the exam and she felt that she would score at least in the bottom range of the distinction category for her efforts. However, she was bitterly disappointed when she ended up scoring in the pass category for the exam.
