Aoife moved to Athlone just recently and decided to use a local dry cleaner Scrubs Easy Ltd. She left them an expensive dress and a pair: Contract Law Essay, UOD, Ireland

Aoife moved to Athlone just recently and decided to use a local dry cleaner Scrubs Easy Ltd. She left them an expensive dress and a pair of trousers to be cleaned. On the back of her receipt in small print is stated: Scrubs Easy Ltd, its employees, and agents, are not liable for any harm caused to items left for dry cleaning, howsoever caused.

This is also written on a small sign in the shop, but because Aoife is short-sighted, she could not read the wording on the sign. A few days later, when she went to collect her clothes, and noticed that her dress was frayed and torn at the bottom, and the trousers had a big hole at the knee. Although Scrubs Easy admits that these damages occurred during the dry-cleaning process, they also rely on the sign and on the small print to deny their liability.
