Research and write a report on the following topics related to carbohydrate consumption/metabolism. The body of your paper must be 2-3 pages in length (not including reference list). Your report should contain:
1. PART 1: A thorough description and background of the topic – symptoms, diagnosis, causes, risk factors, treatments, and prevention, health problems caused by the disease, etc.
2. PART 2: A detailed explanation of nutrition and dietary recommendations for individuals concerned about the topic.
3. Minimum of 2 references required (but no more than 5).
Possible topics for carbohydrate consumption and/or metabolism:
· Diabetes
· Hypoglycemia
· Glycemic Index
· Lactose Intolerance
· Fiber
· Safety of artificial sweeteners
· Dental caries and sugar intake
· Carbonated beverage consumption
· Children and sugar consumption
The body of your paper must be 2-3 pages in length (not including the reference list, or title page, or abstract if you have it) when single-spaced. A Reference List formatted in APA style must appear at the end of the assignment – remember that it is necessary to reference every source that you have used in the preparation of your assignment (even your textbook!). In-text citations (in APA style) must appear throughout your assignment to indicate where you used referenced information. All references in your Reference List should have a corresponding in-text citation within the paper. Use only open-access sources (avoid citing books other than your textbook and DO NOT USE articles that require special access).

How to format Assignment 2
In addition to the information in the assignment description, use these guidelines.
The format should be simple.
Font: 11-12 size, regular type (Calibri, Times New Roman, etc.)
Line spacing: single
Margins: 1 inch
Length: 2-3 pages not including reference list (please no more than 3 pages)
Reference: use APA style for in-text citation and Reference List formatting. Use Purdue OWL guide (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. for details – click on the links in the left sidebar
Number of references: 2-5
Only reputable sources are accepted in this paper.
No pictures or graphs
Don’t put your name on the paper – we will do anonymous peer reviews again
Give your paper a unique title so your peer reviewer does not get confused
No abstract, no page header, no footnotes
Avoid quoting – paraphrase and summarize instead. No more than 10% of the text can be quoted material.
This is the ONLY time we use APA rules for reference formatting in this course. Make sure you learn them.
When researching for this paper, do not try analyzing original research publications. It is too difficult. Use reviews by experts instead.
Use only sources that are available to everybody (the textbook, open-access articles, web publications – from reliable sites). Do not use books as your reference or articles for which one needs special access. Do not forget to provide URLs for all your sources.
Your search for online health information may start at a known, trusted site, but after following several links, you may find yourself on an unfamiliar site. Can you trust this site? Here are some key questions you need to ask. THESE ARE THE W Questions to ASK:

How do you know if the information is accurate?
