Title: NRS 445 Topic 5 DQ 2

Evidence-based practice forms an integral part of improving patient outcomes. Therefore, in recent years, nurses have focused on the use of evidence-based practice in offering patient care services. It is important to note that nurses have various roles in improving healthcare quality and safety through the use of evidence-based practice. One of them is informed clinical decision-making (Gutenbrunner & Nugraha, 2020).

The EBP offers the best guidelines regarding various patient care practices. Therefore, nurses utilize such guidelines to make informed patient care decisions to help lower risks and improve outcomes. The other aspect is that through the use of evidence-based practice, nurses are capable of providing patient-centered care as EBP offers ways or strategies to integrate patient values and preferences in making care decisions (Engle et al.,2021).

The implication is that the care strategies used become patient-centered, hence better outcomes. In addition, the use of EBP also ensures that nurses align their care practices to cultural inclinations, preferences, and needs, hence improving patient engagement and satisfaction.

The highlighted roles are being applied in the workplace. For example, most patient care services and practices are accomplished by following evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes. In addition, EBP is applied to enhance patient-centered care. The current guidelines emphasize cultural competence, which requires the use of EBP guidelines to ensure that patient preferences and culture are incorporated into the patient care plans.

A successful implementation of an EBP project in the workplace requires the support of internal stakeholders within the organization (Triplett et al.,2022). One of the stakeholders is the nurses who offer care to patients. Nurses play a crucial role in patient care; hence they form part of stakeholders who should be involved in EBP implementation. The other internal stakeholders include nurse leaders and nurse managers who can help influence other staff members to support the implementation of the EBP project.
