Assignment Task
Instructions on Assessment
You are required to write two essays (Section A and Section B), which focus on one of the following mental health problems:
- Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
- Autism spectrum disorder.
- Bipolar disorder.
- Borderline personality disorder.
- Intellectual disability.
- Post-traumatic stress disorder.
- Schizophrenia.
The two sections should be directed towards different audiences. Section A should be communicated towards the general public, as if it were an article for the science section of a newspaper. Section B should be written for the academic community (i.e., it should be a traditional essay). The two sections are, therefore, separate essays. But they must focus on the same mental health problem.
Section
A. Critically discuss the association between violent crime and one of the mental health problems listed above.
B. 1.Evaluate to what extent Hiday’s (1995) model can explain the association between violent crime and the mental health problem discussed in Section A.
2. Evaluate a current intervention that aims to reduce violent offending in people diagnosed with the mental health problem discussed in Section A.
