Assessment Overview
This assessment consists of three tasks. These tasks are the outputs from the activities that you have completed during the first four weeks of the course:
Problem Statement (30 marks)
Lean canvas (draft version) (30 marks)
Elevator Pitch Presentation (Video) (40 marks) – Video on YouTube and Slides in the Report. Ensure the URL of the video presentation is clearly placed UNDER the Executive Summary.

Task 1 – Problem Statement
Prepare and submit a problem statement for your own digital business problem. This statement should be about 750 words and contain:
an introduction and background to your problem,
an explanation as to why solving this problem matters
a proposed solution
explanation of the benefits of your solution
summary of problem and solution.

Task 2 – Lean Canvas
Prepare and submit a draft version of the lean canvas for your own digital business problem. The canvas must include the following:
Problem statement summary – (taken from your first task)
Solution – identify your solution along with listing its top 3 features (taken from the first task)
Value Proposition –list 3 reasons why your product or services is different and why customers would choose your product or service over your competitors
Key metrics – (How will you monitor the performance of your digital product or service – list your ideas in no more than 5 bullet points)
Cost Structure – Your best estimate of the operational costs for taking this business solution to market.
Unfair Advantage – What do you have that no one else can buy? List 3 or more reasons why
Channels – How are you going to get your product or service to market? List 5 ideas with a brief explanation
Customer Segments – Who are your target customers? Provide a brief overview of each segment
Revenue Streams – How do you propose to make money? Provide a short list of 3 or 4 ideas.
Your canvas should include concise and relevant bullet points for each section. Discuss each component under the Lean Canvas in about 500 words (Total word limit for Task 2, 750 words).
Task 3 – Elevator Pitch Presentation
Prepare a presentation of your elevator pitch. This pitch must relate to Tasks 1 and 2 of this assessment and will be your chance to state your problem and convince your audience that your digital product or service would be worthwhile to purchase as a consumer and as an investor. To do this:
Prepare a PowerPoint slide show of no more than 6 slides (not including cover slide and any references).
Practice delivering your presentation so that you can deliver the presentation in less than 3 minutes.
